Interested in taking your soccer skills to the next level? Join the Mt. Pleasant Soccer Club, a 501(C) Non-Profit Corporation run by volunteers who are committed to seeing central Michigan youth develop a higher level of soccer skills and experience competitive play.

On June 19, 20, & 21, 6-8 PM, the Mt Pleasant Soccer Club will hold registration and tryouts for soccer teams playing in the Mid-Michigan Youth Soccer League (MMYSL). It is recommended that players attend multiple nights of the tryouts in order to increase the opportunity for coaches to observe play.

For the 2007-2008 season the Mt. Pleasant Soccer Club expects to form teams for the following age groups:

Girls teams: U10, U11, U12, U13 or U14, and U16 and/or U19 (Fall only)

Boys teams: U10, U11 and/or U12, and U14

U10 means under age 10 on July 31, 2007, U12 is under 12 on July 31, etc.

The Club hopes to offer a place to all qualified players who attend tryouts, but we may be unable to accommodate some players if there are not enough in their age group.

Teams typically practice 2 weeknights per week, with 1 to 2 games per weekends. Half of the games will be played at home and the other half on the road, against teams from other mid-Michigan communities (including Midland, Bay City, Freeland, Saginaw, Frankenmuth, Flint, Flushing, Clio, Lapeer, Durand, Davison, and Lansing). Teams will play both a fall and a spring season (except for high school age teams).

In addition to competitive teams the Mt. Pleasant Soccer Club also sponsors “developmental teams.” These teams are for players, 7-10 years old, who want to receive good soccer coaching and develop their soccer skills but are not quite prepared for travel play. The developmental teams will not play in the Mid Michigan Youth Soccer League but will play games against each other and selected local teams (i.e., travel is kept to a minimum).

The Mt Pleasant Soccer Club teams play in the Mid-Michigan Youth Soccer League, affiliate of the Michigan Youth Soccer Association, the US Soccer Association, and FIFA.
